1 - ChatGPT Ads Are Here!
OpenAI is now trying out ads in the United States for people who use ChatGPT for free or pay the lowest price. This is a big change in how the company makes money and how people use ChatGPT.
What you need to know:
Ads will show up for Free users and people with the Go plan. If you pay for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Education plans, you won't see any ads.
OpenAI says ads won't change the answers ChatGPT gives you. Your chats will stay private from the companies buying ads. You'll be able to see which parts are ads because they'll be clearly marked.
You can control the ads you see. You can look at which ads you clicked on, delete this history, close ads you don't like, tell OpenAI what you think, and change your settings.
Free users can choose to turn off all ads, but then they'll get fewer free messages each day. We don't know yet how many fewer messages that will be.
OpenAI says they're still testing ads and will listen carefully to what people say. But ads are staying because OpenAI needs the money to keep making ChatGPT better and smarter.
