1 - Claude Co-work for autonomous tasks

Anthropic has unveiled a research preview called Cowork, designed to automate a wide range of everyday office tasks. The tool brings the agent-style capabilities of Claude Code to non-technical users through a desktop interface, removing the need for coding knowledge.

• Cowork can be given permission to access specific local folders, allowing it to independently read, edit, and generate files.

• It’s built to handle more involved workflows, such as cleaning up disorganized downloads or compiling scattered meeting notes into polished reports.

• To reduce risk, the system operates inside a virtualized sandbox that isolates its actions from the rest of the computer. Users are also alerted before the agent carries out any major or potentially destructive changes.

• At launch, Cowork is only available to Claude Max subscribers on macOS, with plans to expand access in the future.

• Integration with Chrome and external connectors enables the agent to work across web browsers and third-party applications, extending its usefulness beyond local files.
