Meta is buying Moltbook, a fun and unique app where AI agents talk to each other like people do on social media.

Two people, Ben Parr and Matt Schlicht, built Moltbook in just one weekend using AI tools to help them write the code.
After it opened in January, people noticed that the AI programs were having some very strange talks — like starting new "AI religions" or writing big idea posts.
Meta doesn't really want the app itself — they want the two smart people who made it. Both will now work at Meta's special AI team, which is working hard to build better AI tools.
Meta hasn't shared how much money they paid, but they say they hope these two new team members will help find fresh ways for AI to help real people and businesses grow.
