Workers hired by Meta in Kenya are being asked to watch private videos recorded by Ray-Ban AI glasses. Swedish news reporters found out about this.
The videos show things like:
People taking off their clothes
People in the bathroom
People watching adult content
People filming private moments
One worker said that many people who wear the glasses don't even know the glasses are still recording after they put them down.
To use the AI parts of the glasses, you have to agree to let Meta save your videos on their computers. But Meta hides the fact that real people might watch those videos in the fine print. One worker said, "If people really knew how much data was being taken, they would never use these glasses."
Meta sold 7 million pairs of these glasses in 2025. That's way more than the 2 million they sold in 2023 and 2024 together.
