Meta may be planning to let go of 1 in every 5 workers — that's about 16,000 people out of 79,000, based on a Reuters report.
The company has been spending a lot of money on AI tools and new technology. These job cuts could help them pay for all of that.
Meta says the report is not confirmed. But if it happens, it would be the biggest round of job cuts since they did something similar in 2022 and 2023.
