1 - Matthew McConaughey Protects His Famous Catchphrase From AI

Matthew McConaughey has trademarked his iconic phrase "All right, all right, all right."

The actor wants to prevent AI technology from misusing his voice and likeness.

McConaughey first said these words in the 1993 film "Dazed and Confused." The line was completely improvised.

His legal team filed for the trademark in December 2023. It was approved last month.

McConaughey also trademarked seven other properties related to his image. These include video clips and another audio recording.

His lawyers say federal trademarks give him stronger legal protection. This makes lawsuits easier if someone misuses his likeness.

The actor is not against all AI use. He partnered with a company in November to create a Spanish version of his newsletter using his voice.

McConaughey still loves his famous catchphrase. He even used it in his 2014 Oscar acceptance speech.

Other celebrities have also taken similar steps. Paris Hilton trademarked "That's hot" in 2007. Taylor Swift has filed to trademark several of her song lyrics.

This legal move shows how celebrities are protecting themselves in the age of artificial intelligence.
